This section provides instructions on using the authenticated wireless LAN (KITnetX) on macOS.
The screenshot is taken from macOS Ventura. Depending on the version, the location you click on and message may vary slightly.
Step-Guide
- Click on the Wi-Fi icon located in the upper-right corner of the menu bar.
- Locate KITnetX in the list of available Wi-Fi networks and click on it.
- Enter your CIS account's login name and password in the Account Name/Password field, then click the OK button.
Ensure that the server name aligns with the domain name specified in the certificate displayed on User's Guide for the Authenticated Wireless LAN(KITnetX) .
If they match, proceed by clicking "Show Certificate" button.If they do not match, it could indicate that a malicious third party has installed a Wi-Fi access point with the same name. In such cases, it is recommended to cancel the connection.
- Click "Details".
Scroll down through the displayed information and confirm that the fingerprint matches the one listed on the certificate on User's Guide for the Authenticated Wireless LAN(KITnetX) .
If there is a match between them, proceed by clicking the Continue button.If there is no match, it could suggest that a malicious third party has potentially set up a Wi-Fi access point with an identical name; therefore, it is advisable to cancel the connection.
