Step-Guide

1. Sign in to https://vpnt.cis.kit.ac.jp/ using your CIS account.
2. Click 'Download FortiClient,' and then select 'Windows' to initiate the download.
   
3. Wait for the FortiClient installer to finish downloading and initiating the installation process.
4. Launch the FortiClient installer.
5. Check the checkbox "Yes, I have read the accept the..." and click "Next" button.
   
6. Click "Install" button.
   
7. Wait for the installation to complete.
   
8. Click "Finish".
   

How to set up a client VPN connection

1. Launch FortiClient VPN.
2. Check the checkbox [I acknowledge that this...] and click [I accept] button.
   
   
   
3. Click [VPN setting].
   
4. When the screen switches to [New VPN Connection], ensure that [SSL VPN] is selected.
5. Provide a suitable name for the connection (e.g., KIT Client VPN), enter 'vpnt.cis.kit.ac.jp' for the remote gateway, and then click 'Save.'
   

Connect to the service and use Fortigate client VPN

1. Verify that the VPN name matches the one you entered during the settings. Input your CIS account's username and password in the 'User Name' and 'Password' fields, respectively. Finally, click the [Connect] button.
   

2. After successfully logging in, you will be redirected to the [VPN Connected] screen.
   

3. VPN setup has completed.

   When you close the FortiClient window, the connection to the service is still maintained. To reopen the FortiClient screen, click on the FortiClient icon in the task tray and select 'Open FortiClient Console.

   
   

Disconnect from the service and revert to the original network connecti

1.  Click "Dicconnect" button.
   
   If the FortiClient screen is closed, click the FortiClient icon in the task tray, and select 'Disconnect' for the '(name of VPN connection)'
   
2. Click on the FortiClient icon in the task tray, and select 'Shut Down FortiClient' (optional).
